Yubico reveals the key to securing our digital identities on Identity Management Day

Yubico, the leading provider of hardware authentication security keys, will have an executive speaking event today at the 2023 Identity Management Day event hosted at the George on Collins Street in Melbourne. Established in 2021 in partnership with Identity Defined Security Alliance, this day was created to raise awareness, inform and offer solutions on how everyone can manage and secure their digital identities.

Alex Wilson, Director for Solutions Engineering for Asia Pacific and Japan at Yubico will be presenting a session at the Identity Management Day event about Managing and Securing Digital Identities – Authentication is key. During this session, he will talk about the risks of relying on passwords and the shift to strong phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods using security keys or passkeys, such as the YubiKey.

“With the continued rise of sophisticated cyberattacks like phishing and ransomware targeting organisations and individuals, we’re seeing successful attacks against the use of both stolen credentials and push notification systems,” said Wilson.

Hosted by IndentityXP, Yubico will be joined by other leading companies in identity management and secure authentication who will share their success stories, learnings and best practices that can help everyone think differently about managing identities securely.

“To effectively protect identities globally, now more than ever it’s critical to adopt modern forms of phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication such as hardware security keys. By using security keys as a second factor or as a passwordless solution, we can ensure credentials and digital identities are protected.” said Wilson.
