Simon Ractliffe To Spearhead Secureworks Growth Across Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN

Company witnessing accelerated momentum as organisations across the region move towards platform-based cybersecurity technologies

SecureworksÒ (NASDAQ: SCWX), a global leader in cybersecurity, today announced that Simon Ractliffe has been appointed as Regional Managing Director Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN. In his role, Ractliffe will supercharge growth in a region that is facing multiple and complex cybersecurity challenges, compounded by a significant cyber talent shortage. Ractliffe will oversee all aspects of the go-to-market strategy across the region, drawing on his extensive partner ecosystem experience as Secureworks scales across the region.

Ractliffe is re-joining Secureworks from Qualys where he was Regional General Manager for Australia and New Zealand driving business expansion. He has also previously held roles at IBM, as General Manager Australasia, and Singtel, as Head of Cybersecurity, in addition to founding his own cybersecurity consultancy. Ractliffe brings with him almost three decades of high-growth enterprise, SaaS and cybersecurity experience.

“Following several well documented data breaches in the region, organisations are facing increased public awareness, regulatory pressure as well as scrutiny around their cybersecurity strategies and policies. These pressures are further exacerbated by a deepening talent shortage and siloed point solution environments,” said Simon Ractliffe, Regional Managing Director Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN, Secureworks.

“To respond to the ever-evolving challenges of cybersecurity, enterprises need platforms that can provide a consolidated view of their estate and work with their internal teams to drive better cybersecurity outcomes for less investment. Secureworks Taegis™ enables all this and more. It’s the right solution for today, whilst providing the flexibility for organisations to scale and build for tomorrow,” Ractliffe continued.

Ractliffe’s appointment comes as Secureworks continues to receive international recognition, most recently being awarded the top innovation spot in Frost Radar™: Extended Detection and Response, 2023. As a SaaS-based, open XDR platform, that provides a ‘single pane of glass’ view into an organisation’s cyber environment, enhancing cyber readiness and delivering improved return on investment, Taegis is well placed to assist organisations with the many and varied cybersecurity challenges that they face. Taegis already enables superior threat prevention, detection and unmatched rapid response for organisations across the region operating in the financial services, engineering, healthcare and manufacturing industries.

“Simon’s customer-centric view of the cybersecurity world and his nuanced understanding of their needs, make him the natural choice to oversee and drive this next exciting phase of growth,” said Allan Peters, Chief Revenue Officer, Secureworks. “We firmly believe that we have the product, the expertise and people to change the economics of cybersecurity for businesses across Asia Pacific. As we invest further in our partners, his experience will be invaluable. With Simon at the helm, there is nothing we can’t accomplish.”
